Crews have paved more than one mile of the new I-85 North lanes in Rowan County, as part of phase one of the I-85 Corridor Improvement Project.
Phase one will widen 3.3 miles of the interstate from four lanes to eight lanes from north of Long Ferry Road (Exit 81) in Rowan County to just north of the N.C. 150 interchange in Davidson County.
It will also replace eight bridges, including the I-85 bridges over the Yadkin River, and reconstruct the N.C. 150 interchange.
