Biography
Maxwell Reinisch is a Transportation and Thriving Communities Intern at Transportation for America. In this role, they enjoy researching how public transportation and intercity transportation shape the communities and environment around us, and finding engaging ways to encourage more people to use public transportation in their communities.
Maxwell joined Transportation for America in 2024 after working for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), TransitCenter, and the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT). At WMATA, Maxwell worked on a variety of projects including a proposal for integrating real time information for tracking trains into text messages. At TransitCenter, Maxwell primarily assisted in the data collection and bug testing for the Transit Equity Dashboard 2.0. At the USDOT, Maxwell worked in the Maritime Administration to provide assistance for projects utilizing Geographic Information Systems, including updating data for public facing data involving the United States Marine Highway System.
Maxwell graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and a Minor in GIS. Maxwell continues to study at The George Washington University for a Masters in Sustainable Urban Planning.
