Biography

Maxton Torres is a Transportation and Thriving Communities Intern for the summer of 2024. Through economic and policy analysis, he assists teams on projects dealing with electric vehicle charging stations and freeway removal.

Maxton started exploring the field of transportation through his work with the Miami Riders Alliance. In his hometown, he examined local leaders’ voting records and stances on transit expansion ahead of county elections. He is interested in the intersection of politics, markets, and urban design aimed at creating more prosperous and connected spaces.

Maxton is a rising sophomore at Stanford University studying economics. As part of his academic career, he helps the Cardinal Policy Group develop solutions to key issues like housing and transit in the Bay Area. Maxton looks forward to improving lives and communities in his time at Smart Growth America.
