Reinstate the Greenhouse Gas Performance Measure

The deadline to sign is February 9.

If you represent an organization or are an elected official, please sign our letter urging the Biden administration to reinstate the greenhouse gas (GHG) performance measure.

Transportation accounts for the largest share of carbon emissions in the United States, and these emissions are rising. Yet in 2017, the Trump administration repealed the GHG performance measure that would have required states to measure and reduce GHG emissions from transportation. With the climate crisis worsening, we must take immediate action to reduce emissions from the transportation sector.

The deadline to sign this letter is Tuesday, February 9th. This letter can only be signed by organizations and elected officials.

In addition, Senator Cardin (MD) and Rep. Blumenauer (OR-3) are leading an effort in Congress to call for reinstating this performance measure. Please call your Senators and House representatives and urge them to support this letter.  Call (202) 224-3121 to be connected to your representatives’ offices, and be sure to send them the link to the letter.
