Now Hiring: Web Savvy Organizer Intern

Transportation for America is currently seeking an organizing intern for Winter 2010 to work with its National Field Team. A position on this campaign would expose the applicant to the latest in transportation reform policies, a fast-paced legislative campaign, and the ability to work directly with over 400 organization, business and public official partners nationwide. Responsibilities will include developing partner communication materials, working with the partner database, creating content for and maintaining a website for our partners, and coordinating legislative efforts with field organizations.
Requirements: This position requires a self-motivated and detail-oriented person with excellent communication, writing and organizational skills. The candidate should be highly computer literate. Experience and familiarity with WordPress, PHP, CSS and HTML will elevate your application. We’re seeking a person with the ability to organize important online information with usability in mind. Experience with a campaign or advocacy organization is strongly preferred. Familiarity with and strong interest in transportation policy, land-use planning and smart growth is a plus. Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply.
Compensation and Time Frame: Start and end dates and work hours are flexible based on the intern’s schedule. The winter intern is expected to work between 10 and 40 hours a week for a minimum of 10 weeks. Interns may receive academic credit if an agreement is made between T4 America and the intern’s college or university. All interns are subject to the applicable employee rules.
