Walkscore is an excellent example using Web 2.0 to improve transport planning. It is one of the applications I discuss in the paper I will present at the 2010 TRB meeting on January 11, 2010 and at SPUR (San Francisco) on January 7, 2010.

The paper surveys various types of Web 2.0 applications and how they are used in transportation, then presents several conceptual Web 2.0-based applications that could be used to increase public collaboration in developing transportation plans.

Here's a link to the paper if you can't attend the TRB: http://www.andynash.com/projects/web2transport.html
