Virginia business groups say they favor new taxes to fund transit improvements, with one chamber of commerce president saying, “businesses in essence are paying a tax right now, but they’re just paying a tax in the form of lower productivity.” (Inside NoVa)
The Washington Post points out that Virginia’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds has shown “courage and candor” in his openness to new revenue for transportation, a quality not shared by his Republican opponent. (WP)
